Chairman's Message by Graeme Reid
Thank you for taking the time to visit the local party website of Spelthorne Conservatives, for whom I'm proud to be Chairman.
Spelthorne is a special community, close to London, but not part of London. Only the River Thames separates us from the rest of Surrey. Politically we follow the fortunes of west London. Nevertheless Spelthorne was one of only six councils that remained Conservative controlled throughout the 1990s, and since then we have reduced Labour's representation to just one serving councillor. However that has created a political vacuum on the left for the Liberal Democrats to exploit. And exploit it they do, using every trick in the book. Despite this the people of Spelthorne continue to place their trust in the Conservatives. Come and join in, get involved at whatever level you want.
